As far as I know, we are ready to go. Nathaniel just left with the turtle and his instructions for the week-- water the garden, water the house plants, move the house plants, feed the birds (wild birds), sweep the porch roof, check the mail....and I'm sure Rob will think of something else. We have decided how to pack the car and it seems like we have less stuff than the last time. I have a hot weather suitcase, and a cold weather suitcase. I have maps, tour books, and hotel confirmations. Although we still have 4 bars of soap, 15- 12 packs of Canada Dry seltzer water, 4 bottles of Excedrin, 4 containers of baby powder, and 3 boxes of thin mints, the lack of toilet paper gives us extra room.
I am sitting here sipping my Kahlua and anticipating the trip tomorrow. First stop, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail on the way to Nashville!! No wait, I forgot....first stop, the soggy hunting land to search for Ali's iPhone. If some ticks get on me, I will need that bourbon.
