June 4th …..The weather

After becoming one with The Confederacy, today was kind of boring. We had a long drive from Tallahassee to St. Petersburg. The drive was notable only because we took the back roads and saw more of the countryside than just the view from the highway.

The weather is becoming a concern. All week we have been running ahead of the weather.  The storms that spawned tornadoes in Oklahoma on Friday have been moving east.  The skies have been overcast each day. We got some rain on Saturday in Kentucky, and we drove through a major downpour on Monday. It has rained and thunder stormed on and off all day today.

Supposedly there is a storm system forming off the Yucatan which might develop into a named storm. That system is expected to hit the Keys on Friday and so are the Seybold's. I called the hotel in Key West this morning. So far, they are not expecting really bad weather; but the bridge to the Keys could be closed. So, Rob and I might not make it to the Keys. If we don’t, I am sure I can come up with other places to visit.
